I’ve been you. My name is Kristin Black. I am an acupuncturist, clinical herbalist, and the founder of Black Crane Holistic. And before any of that, I was a patient who ran out of answers.

I see you.

Kristin Black, acupuncturist, clinical herbalist, + Chinese Medicine Practitioner

Grounded in tradition. Validated by science.

Traditional Chinese medicine is not alternative medicine. It is original medicine; one of the most sophisticated and complete healing systems in human history, with a growing body of modern research to support what practitioners have known for thousands of years.

where healing takes flight ☯

For years, I lived with debilitating nerve pain, migraines, digestive chaos, immune challenges, and a nervous system that had simply had enough. I saw specialists. I accumulated diagnoses. I took the medications. And still — I suffered.

What I needed wasn't a new prescription. It was to be truly seen.

In 2017, I lost my older brother to pharmaceuticals. That loss shattered me and then, quietly, it redirected me. I began asking a question I could not stop asking: is there a better way to heal?

That question led me to Chinese herbal medicine. Then to acupuncture. Then to the ancient philosophy of Daoism, which gave language to something I had always felt but never been able to name: that the body is not a machine to be fixed, but a landscape to be understood.

The Long Road Here

It took fifteen years to find a medication that managed my neuropathic pain. Through those years; through the grief, the PTSD, the comorbidities, the setbacks, Chinese medicine was what carried me. It didn't replace everything. It completed the picture.

I enrolled in a Master's program at Colorado Chinese Medicine University, completed over 3,000 clinical hours, and immersed myself in a lineage of healing that stretches back more than 5,000 years. I additionally completed an externship at the VA supporting veterans, studied esoteric acupuncture, shamanism in Chinese medicine, and the treatment of psycho-emotional pain through the 8 extraordinary vessels.

This medicine changed my life. Not in a single dramatic moment, but slowly, the way light returns after a long winter. And now I am here to offer that same return to you through Black Crane Holistic; where healing takes flight.

A worldview where the body and mind is understood as a microcosm of the universe itself.

My practice is rooted in Quanzhen Daoist lineage — a tradition that weaves together Daoism, Buddhism, and Confucianism into a worldview where the body is understood as a microcosm of the universe itself.

I do not see myself as the source of your healing. I am a skilled conduit, someone whose own cultivation, presence, and energetic clarity exists in service of what your body already knows how to do.

My approach is built on pattern differential diagnosis: a rigorous clinical process of identifying not just what is presenting, but the precise underlying root pattern driving it. Two people can share the same diagnosis and need entirely different treatment because they are entirely different people.

I will spend time with you. I will listen beyond your words. I will trace the thread of your symptoms back to where they began, and I will meet you there with clinical precision, and with genuine care.

Outside the treatment room.

I am a southern belle from Charleston that craves the beach, a music lover, and a student of this medicine who will never stop learning. I am also a mother and my son, Maddox, reminds me every day what it means to show up fully for the people we love. He is my greatest teacher and my deepest motivation.

I believe in the intersection of ancient wisdom and modern science. I believe that your symptoms have always been real. And I believe, with everything I am, that it is possible to feel like yourself again.
